Filip Benešovský

Filip BenešovskýFilip Benešovský was born in Prage in 1974. In 2000 he graduated as a bassguitarist at Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory. After his studies he shortly co-operated with Václav Hybš Orchestra, Zdeněk Barták Orchestra, with Richard Scheufler also bassguitarist, Tonya Graves and many other jazz, pop, rock and country musicians.

Between the years 2000 and 2005 he used to be a member of a fusion band of Ivan Myslikovjan. Since 2001 he has been a part of an accompanying band of a famous czech singer Marie Rottrová, he participated on her record called „Podívej“ (2001 BMG Ariola ČR). Together with Jaromír Nohavica and Vít Sázavský he formed a team preparing Ernst Brill´s and Kateřina Gärtnerová´s musical production „Malované na skle“. It took place in South Bohemian Theatre in České Budějovice. In 2003 Filip accepted the offer to become a bass player of the band Neřež. He recorded two albums with this band, „Jednou měř, dvakrát Neřež“ (2004 Indies Records) and „Slavná věc“ (2007 Jiný břeh). Since 2004 he also co-operates with Raven, record „Kamení“ (2006 Jiný břeh). Simultaneously, he is engaged in original modern jazz projects with Jiří Neužil.

Filip Benešovský has also got many activities as a producer. For example, Roman Dragoun´s (ex Stromboli, Jesus Christ Superstar, Progres 2, Futurum) album „Otlučená srdce“, released in the beginning of the year 2009 by the publisher „Kouřící králík“. In the end of this year the other Filip´s production work, the record of a very hopeful young pop-rock band is going to appear.

The special chapter in his musical life is the adaptation of classical multimedia quadrosound shows of Pink Floyd and Roger Waters, particularly The Wall and The Dark Side Of The Moon. The first „The Wall“ rose in Prague club Futurum in January 23, 2002. The fretless bassguitar was played by Vladimír “Guma“ Kulhánek. The next but much more magnificent The Wall show took place in Pilsen ( Náměstí Republiky 2004 and DK Inwest 2005), in Žatec (beer fest „Dočesná“2005), in Český Krumlov (Brewery Gardens 2006). The performance from Pilsen (Náměstí republiky 2004) was recorded and it is available on DVD. As a bonus there is a greeting of Pink Floyd´s percussionist Nick Mason. Dark Side Of The Moon was performed twice in the cinema in Roudnice nad Labem, in Žatec (beer fest „Dočesná“), in Pilsen Brewery and in DK Litoměřice.
